I work with a lot of people. Some of them are engineers, some of them aren't. The latter then ranges from technical minded to non-technical minded. Sometimes it's tricky to have conversations with the (latter) latter when I'm trying to explain why we should do something a certain way. Depending on the scenario it's hard to justify spending time on something that the end user might not necessarily see, when there's all sorts of new features and tasks that need doing.

There's a new book, "Laravel for the Rest of Us", which is written purely for those that work alongside the development team. It goes into detail about Laravel is, why engineering teams use it and how it powers the applications that are built on top of it.

This absolutely makes sense to exist. There's been a lot of times I've struggled to explain something in terms that a non engineer would understand and this book covers a lot of stuff!

You can find more information out on the website. I'll definitely be suggesting we get a couple of copies for the office!
